Bore Fixture Kits

Full-bore measurements

They are used when the bore is intact and fully accessible around its entire circumference — typical for bearing journals in diesel engines, compressors, and gear boxes. The receiver fixture is mounted concentrically inside the bore using arms that brace against the full inner surface, allowing the laser beam to be referenced to the true geometric centre. With the Acoem fullbore fixture kit, diameters from ø 80 to 620 mm are covered as standard, and the accessory kit extends this range up to ø 1500 mm.

Half-bore measurements

They are used when only the lower half of the bore is accessible — typical for split machine casings where the upper half has been removed for maintenance, such as turbine bearings or large pump housings. The receiver and transmitter are mounted to the exposed lower half using dedicated halfbore arms and an expanding joint, while a rotational unit allows the centre line to be established despite the missing upper surface. The Acoem halfbore fixture kit covers ø 80 to 750 mm, extendable up to ø 1500 mm with the accessory kit.
